Flounder are flatfish ambush predators commonly caught in the coastal areas south of Tallahassee. These bottom dwellers are excellent table fare and are typically caught near oyster bars, sandy flats, and creek mouths with soft plastics or bait.

In the Tallahassee area, flounder can be caught:

Near oyster beds and sandy bottom flats

Mouths of creeks and tidal sloughs

Around docks, seawalls, and submerged structure

Slow presentations near the bottom are best
