Fish the Indian River Lagoon
The Indian River Lagoon is a grouping of three lagoons: the Mosquito Lagoon, the Banana River, and the Indian River, on the Atlantic Coast of Florida. The Indian River Lagoon is a popular inshore water to fish along the Space Coast. Many anglers come here to fish for redfish, sea trout, flounder, snook and more in the waters of the Indian River.
Fish the Banana River Lagoon
The Banana River is around 30 miles long and it lies between Cape Canveral and Merritt Island. It is part of the Indian River Lagoon system. They connect at the south end of the Banana River. It is the only part of the lagoon system not in the intracoastal waterway and it has an outlet to the Atlantic Ocean from a lock into Port Canaveral. The river is actually a shallow, saltwater lagoon and it is a popular area to fish for redfish, trout and black drum, but there are other species of fish to catch here as well. This lagoon usually gets a little less boat traffic than the nearby Indian River Lagoon and Mosquito Lagoon.
Fish the Mosquito Lagoon
Mosquito Lagoon is a body of water that is part of the Indian River Lagoon System and the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway. This is a popular area to fish in the Space Coast with many anglers coming here to fish for redfish, sea trout, drum and more.
