There are numerous types of sea bass that thrive in the ocean, however, black sea bass are some of the most popular sea bass to catch. They can be found inshore during the summer and offshore throughout the winter.
Sea bass inhabit irregular hard-bottom areas, such as wrecks or reefs. They are found from on the east coast from Massachusetts to Cape Canaveral, Florida. They are found inshore and nearshore. Juvenile fish are common in the high-salinity areas of the estuaries during the summer.
Black Sea Bass Fishing in the Space Coast Area
Black Sea Bass are usually found in much better numbers farther north on the Atlantic Coast, however, some anglers will catch sea bass around the nearshore and offshore reefs and wrecks out of Port Canaveral. Anglers usually catch them while bottom fishing for grouper and snapper in this area. Anglers use the Port Canaveral port to access the reefs and wrecks in the nearshore and offshore waters.
Sea Bass Fishing Tips
Sea bass are easy to catch. Anglers use small baits such as cut bait, shrimp, squid, jigs and soft plastics. Fish near the bottom around reefs, wrecks and jetties and you should be able to find some fish.
