Rainbow trout, brown trout, and the native brook trout are the fish that are primarily targeted by anglers here. There are around 2,900 miles of streams within the National Park and it is home to one of the last wild trout habitats in the eastern United States. About 20% of the park’s streams are large enough to support trout populations.
Anglers come here to fish all over for trout. The fishery is very good for numbers, but don’t expect to find tons of trophy fish here. Brown trout will give you the best chance at a big fish and there are some nice fish in the waters here, but plan on catching a lot of smaller fish in between big fish bites.
