The Rainy River offers some world class sturgeon fishing. For most anglers, they can care less about catching a sturgeon, however, for the people that enjoy catching them, this is an awesome place to do it. There are good numbers of sturgeon in the river and there is a good run in the spring and the fall. Most anglers fish around the deep holes with a heavy sinker rig.
Make sure you read up on the current regulations because they have an open season for catch and release and harvesting as well as a closed season.
