Jack species and Florida pompano are common inshore and surf catches throughout the Cape San Blas and Port St. Joe area. Jacks are aggressive, hard-fighting fish often seen busting bait, while pompano are smaller but highly sought-after for their taste. Both are exciting light-tackle targets, especially during their seasonal runs.
