Pickle Lake is a decent-sized lake with just a few islands and lots of rock. It’s not a hard lake to fish and it’s loaded with fish. There are tons of walleye in the lake with some good pike fishing too. It’s not known as a big trophy lake, although, some quality fish are in here. It is a lake that is known for producing big numbers of catches per day. It is easily possible to catch 100 plus walleye in a day here with 2 people fishing in a boat.
Walleye Fishing
Pickle Lake is an awesome walleye lake. Known more for its numbers than for trophy walleye, you can catch some big walleye, but you’re going to have to sort through lots of walleye in the 15 to 18 inch range. It’s an unbelievable walleye lake if you want to catch a lot of fish. Also, due to its smaller size, it’s fairly easy to find walleye that are willing to eat. Fish the shorelines early in the year and then move out to the islands and offshore rock structures from summer through fall.
Northern Pike Fishing
Pickle Lake is home to tons of walleye, but there are also plenty of northern pike to catch as well. The lake a few bays, but because it is a smaller lake, you will find plenty of pike along the shorelines too. The deeper shorelines will be more productive from summer through fall. You also have some islands and other offshore structure to target them once they settle into the summer patterns.
