There are numerous types of sea bass that thrive in the ocean, however, black sea bass are some of the most popular sea bass to catch. They can be found inshore during the summer and offshore throughout the winter.
Sea bass inhabit irregular hard-bottom areas, such as wrecks or reefs. They are found from on the east coast from Massachusetts to Cape Canaveral, Florida. They are found inshore and nearshore. Juvenile fish are common in the high-salinity areas of the estuaries during the summer.
