Shell Lake is a large, shallow that covers more than 3,100 acres with a maximum depth of only 16 feet. This lake is subject to occasional winter fish kills because of the shallow water. After severe fish kills, the DNR re-stocks the lake and this lake typically has catchable numbers of walleye, largemouth bass, bluegill and crappie. There are a lot of bullhead in the lake to go along with some perch too.
