Black sea bass are a tasty bottom fish occasionally caught off the Palm Beaches, especially while reef fishing. While not as abundant as in northern waters, they still show up around wrecks and reefs offshore. These smaller reef fish are excellent eating when targeted with cut bait or jigs.


Where to Catch Black Sea Bass


Black sea bass are found:

On offshore reefs and wrecks in 100–200 feet

Near hard bottom mixed with porgies and grunts

Around artificial reefs while bottom fishing

Using squid or shrimp on small hooks
