Brookings, OR


Brookings is located along the Wild Rivers Coast in Curry County, Oregon.  The area is very scenic with the ocean to the west and mountains to the east.  The city is the largest city in Curry County with a population around 7,000 people.  Brookings is known for significantly warmer weather than the other towns nearby due to something that meteorologists call the “Chetco Effect.”  Air temperatures can be 20 degrees warmer than the nearby towns, which makes this area a popular area to be during the winter months.

There is plenty to do here with the downtown area’s quaint shops, restaurants and more.  People enjoy a variety of recreational activities and the fishing is very good in the ocean and the area’s rivers.  Anglers fish for salmon, steelhead, lingcod, rockfish and tuna.
