Lake Tarpon is located in Pinellas County, just north of Tampa, Florida and it covers approximately 2,500 acres. This lake is known for its beautiful surroundings and is a nice option for anglers who want to do some freshwater fishing in this part of the state. The lake is known for its good bass fishing. With live shiners, anglers do well with good numbers of largemouth bass and some big bass too. With artificial lures, the bite is tougher, but anglers do report good catches in the spring and fall months. Other fish species include bluegill, redear sunfish and crappie.
