Biscayne Bay
Biscayne Bay is a large lagoon with characteristics of an estuary. This lagoon has 2 distinct ends that fish entirely differently. The northern end of the lagoon is in the heart of Miami, so this is a heavily developed area where you may be fishing around million dollar and multi-million dollar homes and condos. There are huge, beautiful yachts all over the place. It really is a pretty cool place to see, but most people would not think of this as a place to go fishing. There are several fishing charters that fish right in the heart of this area, so look for those charters if you want that type of experience.
The southern end of the lagoon is completely different. It is mostly undeveloped and a large portion of the lagoon is part of the Biscayne National Park. This part of the bay is home to some amazing flats fishing for bonefish, permit and other species too.
