In the spring, the fishing is very good on Lake Seminole. The nights are still cool here through March and early April, but the warm days provide some really consistent fishing for a variety of fish species. Anglers have good results targeting largemouth bass, striped bass, bream and crappie. Bass will be spawning in March and into April, so many anglers will catch their biggest bass of the year in the shallows during the early spring. From mid-April through mid-May, the warming trends helps to create a very consistent bite for most species of fish.

Month | Avg. Air Temps °F (Hi/Lo) |
December | 67° / 41° |
January | 64° / 38° |
February | 68° / 42° |
The winter months provide good fishing for all species of fish, however, it does get cold in this part of Florida and Georgia, so don’t expect it to be lights out fishing like you may experience further south in Florida during the winter months. Cold fronts come through and they can really shut down the bite, especially for largemouth bass. When you get stable weather or warm fronts, the bite can be very good. For many anglers, this is a popular time of year to fish.
