Tripletail are a great-eating fish that is typically found around some type of floating object in open water. Many anglers will fish below buoys or some type of floating trash. Tripletail can be found very close to the objects and they can be caught somewhat easily if you can approach them slowly without scaring them off.
Tripletail Fishing in the Fort Pierce, Florida Area
Tripletail can be found roaming near a variety of floating debris nearshore and offshore throughout the Fort Pierce area. They might not be as common in this area as some parts of the Gulf of Mexico, but if you’re fishing out here and you see some floating debris, it may be worth your time to cast out a bait to see if any tripletail are hanging out.
Tripletail Fishing Tips
Tripletail feed on smaller fish, shrimp and crabs. Anglers usually sight fish for them with slow-sinking jigs or some type of float (bobber) to help keep the bait suspended in the water column.
