Nearshore Fishing

Learn more about the nearshore fishing in the Fort Myers Beach, FL area.

Running the Beaches

In this area, there are plenty of anglers that will go out and run the beaches off of Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel Island and Captiva Island to search for active fish.  It is more common to see anglers do this during the warmer months because more fish will be in this area from late spring through early fall.  Some of the popular fish to target are tarpon, cobia, sharks, jacks, mackerel and more.
