The spring time offers some of the best fishing for a variety of fish once the walleye opener rolls around. On the better lakes in the area, walleye, perch, crappie and northern pike will be in the shallows feeding around the new green weeds and along the rocky shorelines. Early summer provides good fishing for largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and bluegill in shallower water. Some pike, walleye, perch and crappie will still be shallow, but as water temperatures warm up, some of these fish will start to move out to deeper water.
