Lake Nipissing
Most people that visit Lake Nipissing will spend on their time on this lake and catch plenty of fish. However, you have other options in this area and on windy days, you may want to spend a day on the water without the huge waves. French River System
The French River system is home to some incredible fishing. Many anglers come here to target the walleye, bass or huge muskie. You can find pretty much everything in here. To go along with walleye and muskie, you will also find northern pike, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, perch, sturgeon, catfish and sunfish too. Many anglers come here just to fish the French River, but for the anglers who are coming to fish Lake Nipissing, it’s always nice to have the river as an option when you get windy days.
Georgian Bay
The Georgian Bay area is huge and it is home to some awesome recreational opportunities. Georgian Bay is a bay of Lake Huron and if you take a look at the map, you will see just how big this area is and how diverse the fishery can be depending on where you choose to fish.
Some of the species of fish you can target here are northern pike, muskie, walleye, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, perch, crappie, brook trout, brown trout, lake trout, rainbow trout, salmon, whitefish, sturgeon and even catfish. It is incredible what you can fish for here.

Smaller Lakes & Streams in the Area
Bring a smaller boat and you can access so many more lakes and streams that you can’t get onto with a bigger boat. Most people don’t feel the need to go exploring on the smaller lakes though because the fishing is so good on Lake Nipissing and when the wind blows, the French River is close by and it offers some amazing fishing as well. However, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t some awesome waters to fish here for a variety of fish such as largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye and more.
