Because it is a far boat ride just to get out of the bay and the maze of islands, you won’t find too many anglers going out to fish the deeper waters that are home to the pelagic species of fish. For most anglers that do go deep sea fishing here, they will usually be targeting the the reefs and wrecks for snapper, grouper and a variety of other fish too. There are plenty of reefs, wrecks and hard bottom to fish offshore and there are some charters in this area that do target them.
Many of the fishing charters will target grouper, snapper, cobia, king mackerel, permit, amberjack and goliath grouper. Some other fish that are targeted offshore are barracuda, sharks and more.
