Striped Bass Fishing in the Crystal Coast, NC Area
Crystal Coast, NC is home to some very good striped bass fishing. The inshore waters, including the Neuse River, are home to an excellent striped bass fishery. While you can catch striped bass out along the beaches and in the inshore waters here, the Neuse River is a tough spot to beat if you want to catch good numbers of striped bass. From April through December, anglers can usually do well with striped bass near the town of New Bern, NC, but once water temperatures get cooler by the end of December and into January, more fish move their way farther up into the river.

In saltwater, striped bass eat many different types of baits. They will eat worms, crabs, eels, clams and other fish. Many anglers prefer to catch them on lures, but at times, the live bait will be so much more effective.
