Tripletail move into the waters of Cedar Key in the spring and can usually be found in decent numbers through the fall. It is such a tasty fish that lots of anglers will go out and search for them around any type of floating objects they can find.

Tripletail feed on smaller fish, shrimp and crabs. Anglers usually sight fish for them with slow-sinking jigs or some type of float (bobber) to help keep the bait suspended in the water column.
