Fishing Beaver Lake in the Spring
Month | Avg. Air Temps °F (Hi/Lo) |
March | 63° / 40° |
April | 73° / 50° |
May | 79° / 57° |
The spring provides some awesome fishing on Beaver Lake. From March through May, you can catch a variety of different bass plus many other species of fish too and you don’t have to go deep to do it. Creek arms are going to hold lots of fish in the spring. The Beaver Dam tailwater is also a great spot to fish in the spring for trout and walleye. With the warming weather, anglers have so many options whether you’re fishing for largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, spotted bass, panfish, striped bass, walleye or trout.
Fishing Beaver Lake in the Summer
Month | Avg. Air Temps °F (Hi/Lo) |
June | 86° / 65° |
July | 91° / 70° |
August | 91° / 68° |
The summers get quite hot here on Beaver Lake, so plan on fishing deeper water if you want to consistently find schools of better quality fish throughout the summer and early fall. You can still fish the shorelines and catch plenty of fish since so many shorelines drop off really quick. However, anglers that can figure out how to locate fish deeper will usually be the ones that have more success during the summer months. On deep clear lakes, striped bass, smallmouth bass, spotted bass, and even largemouth bass will roam the open waters near the thermocline as they chase down schools of bait fish and Beaver Lake is no different.
Fishing Beaver Lake in the Fall
Month | Avg. Air Temps °F (Hi/Lo) |
September | 82° / 61° |
October | 72° / 50° |
November | 60° / 41° |
In the fall, water temperatures usually stay warm for quite a while, so don’t plan on a big fish movement into the creek arms until the night time temperatures start to drop off in the month of October. You can still find plenty of fish shallow around cover in the month of September, but a lot of fish are still going to be deep. As water temperatures cool down towards the end of October, a lot of baitfish move back into the creek arms and you can find a good amount of largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, spotted bass and panfish around the shoreline cover. Some of the schools of striped bass will move back into the creek arms to follow baitfish as well. If you know how to fish deeper water, there should be a good deep water bite from September through November for a variety of fish. A lot of fish just stay deep out on Beaver Lake from summer through fall.
Fishing Beaver Lake in the Winter
Month | Avg. Air Temps °F (Hi/Lo) |
December | 50° / 31° |
January | 47° / 28° |
February | 53° / 32° |
In the winter, it does get cool down here so the bite definitely slows down in the shallows. That doesn’t mean you can’t catch any fish shallow, especially during a warm front, however large schools of fish usually suspend out in deeper water during the winter months on Beaver Lake. The Beaver Dam tailwater offers very good fishing through the winter for trout and walleye if you don’t mind fishing in those colder temperatures.
