Wahoo are among the fastest fish in the ocean and a prized catch for offshore anglers running deep out of Apalachicola. These torpedo-shaped fish are known for explosive strikes and blistering runs, especially when trolling over deep structure and ledges. While they require a long run offshore, the reward is a hard fight and some of the best meat in the Gulf.

Lures: High-speed trolling lures, jet heads, and skirted ballyhoo

Bait: Rigged ballyhoo or bonito strips

Leaders: Wire leaders or heavy mono (100+ lb)
