Black sea bass are small but tasty bottom dwellers commonly caught on nearshore reefs and hard bottom areas offshore of Apalachicola. They are aggressive feeders and are often caught while targeting grouper and snapper. While not the largest fish, they are prized for their firm, white fillets.
