Turtle Lake is 220 acre lake located between Alexandria and Glenwood, west of State Highway 29 and Maple Lake. The maximum depth is 19 feet in this lake, but the western half of the lake is much shallower than the eastern part of the lake. The western half of the lake is less than 5 feet deep. Most anglers come here to fish for crappie and walleye. Currently, there are good numbers of both species of fish to go along with northern pike, largemouth bass and perch. Fish populations can fluctuate here from year to year in this lake. Bluegill and bullhead are also available in Turtle Lake.
