Welcome to Our Washburn County, WI Fishing Home Page
Washburn County is a nice destination to get away from the crowds and enjoy some time outdoors and on the water. There is just enough in this area as far as restaurants and lodging, but definitely more of a remote destination compared to other parts of Wisconsin. Anglers target largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, muskie, walleye and panfish in the area waters.

Primary Species of Fish
The area lakes are home to some solid fishing for northern pike, largemouth bass and smallmouth bass too. You won’t find smallmouth bass everywhere here, but they are considered abundant on Shell Lake by the Wisconsin DNR. You can definitely catch fish on these lakes and if you target the lakes with lures that will attract both bass and pike, you can have a lot of fun here.
Secondary Species of Fish
You can find some walleye, muskie and of course plenty of panfish in the area lakes such as perch, crappie and bluegill. You don’t have a ton of lakes to fish in this county, so your options are somewhat limited, however, the top 4 lakes here will give you plenty of opportunities to stay busy catching fish.
