Haines is a small town located in Haines Borough, Alaska. It is in the northern part of the Alaska Panhandle, near Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve. There are around 2,500 people that live in this town. Anglers like this area because of the awesome fishing in the local rivers and Chilkoot Inlet. The five species of salmon found in Alaska are also found in Haines: King, Coho, Sockeye, Pink, and Chum and these fish run from May through November, although, they don’t all have runs at the exact times.
