Welcome to our Orlando, FL Fishing Home Page

Orlando, Florida is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world.  This city is home to so many attractions, restaurants, family resorts, shops and more.

Walt Disney World attracts people from all over the world 12 months a year.  Their parks are awesome, however, plan on dealing with crowds during the busiest times of the year such as spring and winter breaks.  Some of the most amazing hotels and water parks are also available on Disney property.

Universal Orlando has been growing in attractions and popularity over the years.  You won’t find the Disney crowds here, but there are still plenty of people that flock to these parks as well.  Universal also has some amazing hotels and a waterpark.

The Orlando area is home to many lakes and ponds and most of them will have good numbers of largemouth bass and sunfish in them.  Some of the most popular places to fish here are Lake Toho, the Butler Chain, Johns Lake, the Clermont Chain and the Disney World lakes.

Primary Species of Fish

Largemouth Bass

Largemouth bass are king here and on many of the lakes, you will catch lots of bass in the 2 to 3 pound range with bigger fish up to and above 10 pounds.  Most anglers prefer to fish with live shiners while down here since the Florida strain largemouth bass can be difficult to catch on artificial lures at times.

Secondary Species of Fish

Crappie, Bream (Bluegill & other similar Sunfish)

Many of the area lakes also have good fishing for a variety of panfish.  Crappie (called specks down here) and bream are available in good numbers with lots of big fish too.  Bream are just a variety of different sunfish that are similar to bluegill.  Pumpkinseed and shell cracker are a couple examples of the different types of bream you will find in the area lakes.
