This area is definitely a better bass area, but there is some very good fishing for northern pike as well. You won’t always find huge numbers of them, but there are definitely plenty of them if you want to target them and catch some fish. There are some quality pike in these waters also due to the special fishing regulations here.
Fish the Lily Pads
This area has so many lily pads and while the pads will hold lots of largemouth bass, the northern pike will be here as well. Fish the deeper edges where you can find water in the 4 to 6 foot range and you’ll catch pike.
Fish the Reeds
The area lakes are home to lots of reeds and other tall grasses. Fish the deeper edges near the reeds and you’ll find some northern pike. Some of the reeds will hold more pike and some will hold more bass. You just have to keep working these areas as you come across them and you should get plenty of bites from northern pike.
Fish the Submerged Vegetation
There are huge areas of submerged vegetation in the 5 to 8 foot depth range. You will find plenty of bass in these areas, but the pike are here too and a lot of the bigger pike will be found in these areas. Use some lures that are great for covering water and keep making casts until you find the pike.
