Laurel River Lake covers more than 5,800 surface acres and it is known for its clear, cool and deep waters. It’s like used to be stocked with trout, however they do not stock trout here anymore. The cool waters in this lake are known for producing some nice smallmouth bass and walleye to go along with some good fishing for largemouth bass and spotted bass.

Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Spotted Bass & Walleye
This lake has good numbers a largemouth bass, which is what many anglers target when they fish here. The lake has a smaller population of smallmouth bass, but a lot of quality smallmouth bass are caught here, so plenty of anglers do come here to fish for the bigger smallmouth bass. Spotted bass are here in good numbers but they usually do run quite a bit smaller than the largemouth and smallmouth bass. There is also a fishable population of walleye with some nice fish as well and anglers do like coming to this lake to fish for walleye.

Crappie, White Bass, Bluegill
Crappie, white bass and bluegill round out the fishery and Laurel River Lake. If you’re looking for action, you may want to target bluegill and crappie. There are some big crappie in this lake, however there aren’t a ton of crappie in the lake so you got to put in some work to find them.
