Seward is located on the Kenai Peninsula at the head of Resurrection Bay. Seward is a popular destination because of the outstanding saltwater fishing for salmon, halibut, rockfish and lingcod. Known mostly for the thousands of coho salmon, this area also provides some excellent fishing for king salmon and even some pink salmon. Plenty of fishing charters are available in Seward, Alaska.
Some anglers spend a day or two by driving over to the famous Kenai river, which is about an hour and a half to two and a half hours away depending on which portion of the river you intend to fish. There really is no reason to leave the Seward area because the fishing can be unbelievable in Resurrection Bay.
Seward is also very close to the Kenai Fjords National Park, which is breathtaking.
The scenery is breath-taking and the fishing is some of the best in the entire world.
