Welcome to our Glen Arbor, MI Fishing Home Page
Glen Arbor is home to Big and Little Glen Lakes and miles of shoreline along Lake Michigan. It’s a beautiful area and there is plenty of outdoor recreation in this small coastal town. Anglers have a lot of options when it comes to fishing. Stay on the inland lakes or go fish Lake Michigan. Either way, the fishing can be very good in this area.
Salmon & Trout Fishing
Located on the shores of Lake Michigan, the Glen Arbor area offers good fishing for salmon and trout. There are some fishing charters available here to take you out on a trip or you can go out in your own boat. King salmon, coho salmon, brown trout, steelhead and lake trout are all possible in this area. Rainbow trout and lake trout are possible in Glen Arbor Lakes. If you fish there for trout, you’ll have more success fishing Big Glen Arbor Lake because it is much bigger and it has much deeper, cooler water which is needed for trout.
Inland Lakes
Big Glen Arbor and Little Glen Arbor Lake offer anglers some good fishing for a variety of different fish. Little Glen Arbor Lake is much smaller and very shallow. Big Glen Arbor Lake is about 4 times the size and it has very good depth. Lake trout, rainbow trout, northern pike, smallmouth bass, perch, rock bass and bluegill are available in these lakes.
Island Lakes
If you’re looking for an adventure, try fishing Florence Lake and Manitou Lake. They are located on 2 different islands called North Manitou Island and South Manitou Island. The fishing is good on these lakes, although, you are limited to shore fishing, wading or with bringing a smaller inflatable type boat over on the ferry. Some people use float tubes or canoes, but most people just fish from shore because it’s a hassle to bring over a lot of equipment on the ferry and hike it back into these lakes. Anglers target smallmouth bass and trout in these lakes.
