Welcome to Our Forest County, WI Fishing Home Page

Forest County, WI is home to some excellent fishing opportunities. There aren’t as many lakes in this county as you will find in some of the other nearby counties, but the good lakes in Forest County are definitely worth pursuing.  Anglers target smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, northern pike, walleye, muskie and other fish too.

Crandon, WI Area

The Crandon area has several lakes to fish as well.  Metonga Lake and Lake Lucerne get the most attention here with their excellent smallmouth bass fishing, but you have other options here as well.

Primary Species of Fish

The lakes of Forest County are home to some very good bass fishing.  Smallmouth bass fishing gets a lot of attention here since there are a few very good smallies lakes in the county.  Largemouth bass are available in many of the Forest County lakes as well, especially if you want to fish some of the smaller lakes that get much less fishing pressure.

Secondary Species of Fish

Most of the lakes will have walleye, pike and panfish in them, but the fish populations may make it tough on anglers for the secondary species of fish here.  You will definitely have to bounce around a bit if you want to target quality pike, muskie, walleye or panfish.  These fish are here, but you will just have to put a little work in if these are the fish you want to catch.
