Amnicon Lake


Amnicon Lake is a 390 acre lake located in Douglas County.  It has a maximum depth of 31 feet.  Fish include largemouth bass, muskie, walleye and panfish.  According to the DNR, muskie and panfish are common in the lake while largemouth bass and walleye are listed as present.



Amnicon River – Below Amnicon Falls State Park


The Amnicon River is known for its scenery, but it can provide some good fishing too.  It is a warm water stream that flows north into Lake Superior.  The falls at Amnicon Falls State Park divides this river into 2 different parts.  Below the park, the river changes from a fast-flowing river into a wider, slow river.  There are a variety of fish that live in the lower part of the river that will move up to spawn towards the falls every year.  There are also a good number of fish that will migrate from Lake Superior up into the river each year as well.  Some of the fish that anglers target in the river are steelhead, walleye, northern pike, muskie and more.



Bois Brule River


The Bois Brule River is a very good trout stream.  It has become a popular river to fish due to the spawning runs for steelhead, brown trout and salmon.  Steelhead and salmon move into the river in the fall.  Steelhead can be found in the river through the winter and then they head back out into the lake in the spring as waters start to warm.  Brown trout are found in the river during the fall and some fish may be found through the winter months as well.  Wild brook trout live in the river and can be targeted in the upper section of the river.



Bond Lake


Bond Lake is a 279 acre lake located in Douglas County.  It has a maximum depth of 67 feet.  Fish include largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye and panfish.  According to the DNR, largemouth bass are common in the lake while the other species of fish are listed as present.



Cranberry Lake


Cranberry Lake is a 169 acre lake located in Douglas County.  It has a maximum depth of 19 feet.  Fish include largemouth bass, northern pike, walleye and panfish.  According to the DNR, largemouth bass, northern pike and panfish are common in the lake while walleye are listed as present.



Crystal Lake


Crystal Lake is a 291 acre lake located in Douglas County.  It has a maximum depth of 22 feet.  Fish include largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye and panfish.  According to the DNR, northern pike and panfish are common in the lake while largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and walleye are listed as present.



Lake Minnesuing


Lake Minnesuing is a 450 acre lake located in Douglas County.  It has a maximum depth of 43 feet.  Visitors have access to the lake from several public boat landings.  Fish include largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, trout, northern pike, walleye and panfish.  According to the DNR, northern pike and panfish are common in the lake while largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, trout and walleye are listed as present.



Lake Nebagamon


Lake Nebagamon is a 986 acre lake located in Douglas County.  It has a maximum depth of 56 feet.  Fish include largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, trout, northern pike, walleye and panfish.  According to the DNR, northern pike and panfish are common in the lake while the other species of fish are listed as present.



Lake Superior – Superior, WI


Superior, Wisconsin is the main port for going out onto Lake Superior in Douglas County.  Anglers do well in the waters near the mouth of Superior Harbor in the spring.  Many boats will troll along the South Shore early in the year as they target lake trout, coho salmon, chinook salmon, steelhead and brown trout.  As the water warms through the summer, the boats will be chasing salmon and trout in much deeper waters and many of the charters will head into Minnesota waters as well.  In the fall, salmon and trout will move back towards shore to spawn.  Good numbers of fish will move into the harbor here as well as the tributaries found along the South Shore.



Leader Lake


Leader Lake is a 171 acre lake located in Douglas County.  It has a maximum depth of 56 feet.  Fish include largemouth bass, northern pike, walleye and panfish.  According to the DNR, largemouth bass and northern pike are common in the lake while walleye and panfish are listed as present.



Lower Eau Claire Lake


Lower Eau Claire Lake is a 784 acre lake located in Douglas, Bayfield Counties.  It has a maximum depth of 41 feet.  Fish include largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, muskie, northern pike, walleye and panfish.  According to the DNR, northern pike, walleye and panfish are common in the lake while largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and muskie are listed as present.



Lyman Lake


Lyman Lake is a 370 acre lake located in Douglas County.  It has a maximum depth of 15 feet.  Visitors have access to the lake from multiple public boat landings.  Fish include largemouth bass, muskie, walleye and panfish.  According to the DNR, walleye, muskie and panfish are common in the lake while largemouth bass are listed as present.



McGraw Lake


McGraw Lake is a 140 acre lake located in Douglas, Burnett Counties.  It has a maximum depth of 25 feet.  Fish include largemouth bass, northern pike and panfish.  According to the DNR, panfish are abundant in the lake while largemouth bass and northern pike are listed as present.



Minong Flowage


Minong Flowage is a 1,587 acre lake located in Douglas, Washburn Counties.  It has a maximum depth of 21 feet.  Visitors have access to the lake from several public boat landings.  Fish include largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye and panfish.  According to the DNR, walleye are abundant in the lake while northern pike and panfish are considered common.  Largemouth bass and smallmouth bass are listed as present.



Person Lake


Person Lake is a 174 acre lake located in Douglas County.  It has a maximum depth of 8 feet.  Fish include largemouth bass, northern pike, walleye and panfish.  According to the DNR, northern pike and panfish are common in the lake while largemouth bass and walleye are listed as present.



Red Lake


Red Lake is a 253 acre lake located in Douglas County.  It has a maximum depth of 37 feet.   Fish include largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye and panfish.  According to the DNR, northern pike and panfish are common in the lake while smallmouth bass and northern pike are listed as present.



Saint Louis River


The Saint Louis River is a huge tributary of Lake Superior.  The river is located on the border between Duluth, Minnesota and Superior, Wisconsin.  The river extends about 18 miles from the Thompson Dam to the Superior, Wisconsin entrance of Lake Superior.  The river passes through the scenic rock cliffs of Jay Cooke State Park, which is a popular and very scenic area that is known for its outdoor recreation.

Unlike many of the tributaries around the lake, the Saint Louis River provides a good fishery for plenty of warm water species of fish.  Most of the other tributaries will provide a good fishery of spawning run fish such as chinook salmon, coho salmon, steelhead and brown trout.  On the Saint Louis River, anglers target walleye, muskie, smallmouth bass, northern pike, crappie, perch, rock bass, sunfish carp, catfish and more.



Sauntrys Pocket Lake


Sauntrys Pocket Lake is a 103 acre lake located in Douglas County.  It has a maximum depth of 9 feet.  Fish include largemouth bass, northern pike and panfish.  According to the DNR, largemouth bass and northern pike are common in the lake while panfish are listed as present.



Simms Lake


Simms Lake is a 151 acre lake located in Douglas County.  It has a maximum depth of 41 feet.  Fish include largemouth bass, northern pike and panfish.  According to the DNR, largemouth bass are common in the lake while northern pike and panfish are listed as present.



St Croix Flowage


St Croix Flowage is a 2,247 acre lake located in Douglas County.  It has a maximum depth of 28 feet.  Visitors have access to the lake from multiple public boat landings.  Fish include largemouth bass, northern pike and panfish.  According to the DNR, all species of fish are listed as common in the lake.



Upper Saint Croix Lake


Upper Saint Croix Lake is a 828 acre lake located in Douglas County.  It has a maximum depth of 22 feet.  Visitors have access to the lake from several public boat landings.  There is also a public beach on the lake.  Fish include largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike and trout.  According to the DNR, northern pike and walleye are common in the lake while largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and trout are listed as present.



Whitefish Lake


Whitefish Lake is a 848 acre lake located in Douglas County.  It has a maximum depth of 102 feet.  Fish include largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, trout, northern pike, walleye and panfish.  According to the DNR, trout are common in the lake while all other species of fish are listed as present.
