Crane Lake, MN is located in northern Minnesota near the Minnesota – Canada border. The pristine waters of Crane Lake, Sand Point Lake and Namakan Lake are located in Voyageurs National Park. This area is a wonderful vacation destination to get away from it all. The unspoiled waters, pristine wilderness and outstanding fishing attract thousands of visitors every year.
Primary Species of Fish
Northern Pike, Walleye & Smallmouth Bass
The area lakes are known for northern pike, walleye and smallmouth bass. Anglers usually come here to target walleye and smallmouth bass and they will catch plenty of northern pike while fishing for the other species of fish. Some anglers do come here to specifically target pike and there are some very big pike in the waters that make up the Crane Lake, Minnesota area.
Secondary Species of Fish
Muskie, Largemouth Bass, Perch & Crappie
Anglers also catch muskie, largemouth bass, perch and crappie, however, they are definitely not the primary fish in this area. Muskie are rarely caught here, but a big muskie will turn up in a report every once in a while. Largemouth bass are also here in low numbers. Perch and crappie can be found here if you choose to pursue them.
