Carters Lake is a very deep lake that covers about 3,200 surface acres and 62 miles of shoreline. It is the deepest reservoir lake in the state of Georgia. The average depth is 200 feet and there are areas of the lake that reach more than 400 feet deep. It is known as a trophy lake for many different species of fish including striped bass, hybrid striped bass and spotted bass. Largemouth bass, walleye, catfish and sunfish are also available.
