Fishing Bemidji, MN in the Summer

Month Avg. Temps °F (Hi/Lo)
June 74° / 52°
July 79° / 57°
August 77° / 55°

The summer provides very good fishing still, however, you will have more fishing pressure and the pleasure boaters will be out on the popular lakes in the area.  Early morning and later in the evening will be the better times to target fish on some of the popular lakes.  To get away from the crowds, you can hit some of the smaller lakes in the area.  On the bigger lakes, fish deeper in the summer for walleye, pike and panfish.  You can still find a lot of largemouth bass using the shallower cover such as docks and weeds, however, some of the quality bass will go deep as well.

Fishing Bemidji, MN in the Fall

The fall provides for very good fishing with much less boating pressure on the popular lakes in the area.  The bite can stay good for most species of fish all the way into the later part of the fall.  As water temperatures drop below 50 degrees, the bite gets tough for largemouth bass, but you still have plenty of fish here to keep you busy.  Walleye, pike and panfish can all be caught through the later part of the fall.
