Menhaden

Menhaden are a very popular bait for catching striped bass.  A lively menhaden can be very effective fished weightless, with a small weight throughout the water column or off the bottom with your favorite bottom rig.  Many anglers use this as bunker bait (cut bait).  Cut the bait into chunks and fish it along the bottom and you can catch some nice striped bass.  The scent of this fish attracts striped bass from quite a ways away.
