Shad

Shad are one of the best live baits to use for catching striped bass.  If you can get your hands on some shad to use as bait, you have a good chance to catch some stripers.  Many anglers slow troll shad, but you can also fish them under a float, with a carolina rig, drop shot rig and pretty much any other type of rig that is common for catching bass with live bait.
