Spoons

Casting Spoons can work well for spotted bass, although, most bass anglers don’t even carry these lures in their tackle box.  Most anglers think of spoons as a lure for pike, muskie, salmon or trout.  You may not always catch a lot of bass by casting spoons, but the smaller spoons do a good job of imitating bait fish and they can be very productive if you know how to fish them.

Jigging Spoons are one of the best deep water fishing lures for spotted bass.  When the spotted bass go deeper in the summer and the fall, you can use a jigging spoon to get down deep.  Vertical jig with them and you’ll catch some spotted bass if you can get over some of these schooling fish.
