Docks

Yellow perch love hanging around docks.  In the spring, anglers will see some nice-sized perch move into the waters around the docks.  Once summer rolls around, the deeper docks can still hold some nice perch, but the shallower docks will usually produce small perch.  Fall can be hit or miss, but the deeper docks can definitely increase your odds of finding some quality perch.

Small jigheads tipped with leeches, nightcrawlers and minnows work well around the docks, but a drop-shot rig is tough to beat.  The drop shot rig is very effective as well around the docks.  It’s probably the best way to fish a dock with live bait.
