Bluegill & Other Sunfish

The bluegill fishery is very good on Lake Fork, however, most anglers never target them because they come here for the bass fishing.  Anglers that do target them will report very good catches in the spring and fall as these fish can be found shallower, however, the deep water bite can be very good around the offshore structure too in the summer and winter months.  Anglers can sometimes find huge schools of bluegill in 20 to 30 feet of water here in the summer and winter.  Find these schools with your electronics and you’ll have a lot of fun.  There are a lot of quality fish here too, so if once you find them, you should be able to catch quite a few of them for the frying pan.
