Lake Superior
Chequamegon Bay
Chequamegon Bay is a popular fishing destination in Wisconsin, although, this area doesn’t draw nearly as many visitors as some of the other popular destinations in Wisconsin. The scenery is beautiful and the fishing is outstanding for a variety of different fish.
This area might have some of the best smallmouth bass fishing for big bass in the entire state of Wisconsin. You can also catch lake trout, walleye, salmon, brown trout, northern pike and perch.

Lake Superior’s South Shore
The communities of Cornucopia, Herbster and Port Wing give people access to Lake Superior’s South Shore. There are beautiful beaches, shops and plenty of small town charm here. For anglers, there is some very good fishing here, but you will need a bigger boat most days because you won’t find protection from the wind here.
On Lake Superior in this area, anglers target lake trout, splake, brown trout, steelhead, chinook salmon, coho salmon and walleye.
Iron River Area
The Iron River area is a popular vacation destination. People come here to enjoy the beautiful lakes and streams that provide excellent fishing and other recreational activities. The 96 area lakes provide good fishing for largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike and panfish. Muskie and walleye are here too. The Pike Chain of Lakes gets most of the attention here, but there are so many lakes to fish that offer good fishing.
Iron Lake
Iron Lake is a 247 acre lake located in Bayfield County. It has a maximum depth of 20 feet. Fish include panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike and walleye. According to the Wisconsin DNR, northern pike are abundant in this lake and the other species of fish are listed as present.
Pike Chain of Lakes
Buskey Bay
Buskey Bay is a 88 acre lake that is a part of the Pike Chain of Lakes. It has a maximum depth of 51 feet. Visitors have access to the lake from one public boat landing. Fish include muskie, panfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike and walleye. According to the Wisconsin DNR, northern pike and walleye are common in this lake and the other species of fish are listed as present. The lake’s water clarity is very clear.
Eagle Lake
Eagle Lake is a 163 acre lake and it is part of the Pike Chain of Lakes. It has a maximum depth of 52 feet. Fish include muskie, panfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike and walleye. According to the Wisconsin DNR, northern pike and largemouth bass are common in this lake and the other species of fish are listed as present. The lake’s water clarity is very clear.
Flynn Lake
Flynn Lake is a 30 acre lake located in Bayfield County. It has a maximum depth of 9 feet. Fish include muskie, panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike and walleye. According to the Wisconsin DNR, all species of fish in this lake are listed as present. The lake’s water is moderately clear.
Hart Lake
Hart Lake is a 257 acre lake and it is part of the Pike Lake Chain of Lakes. It has a maximum depth of 54 feet. Fish include muskie, panfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike and walleye. According to the Wisconsin DNR, northern pike and walleye are common in this lake and the other species of fish are listed as present.
Lake Millicent
Lake Millicent is a 183 acre lake located in Bayfield County. It has a maximum depth of 53 feet. Fish include muskie, panfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike and walleye. According to the Wisconsin DNR, northern pike and walleye are common in this lake and the other species of fish are listed as present.
McCarry Lake
McCarry Lake is a smaller lake on the Pike Chain of Lakes. It covers 32 acres and has a maximum depth of 21 feet. Fish include muskie, northern pike, walleye, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and panfish. According to the WI DNR, northern pike are common and all of the other species of fish are listed as present in this lake.
Muskellunge Lake
Muskellunge Lake is a 43 acre lake located in Bayfield County. It has a maximum depth of 35 feet. Fish include muskie, panfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike and walleye. According to the Wisconsin DNR, northern pike are common in this lake and all the other species of fish are listed as present.

Long Lake is a 280 acre lake located in Bayfield County. It has a maximum depth of 28 feet. Visitors have access to the lake from one public boat landing. Fish include panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike and walleye. According to the Wisconsin DNR, panfish and northern pike are abundant in this lake. Largemouth bass and walleye are listed as present.
Twin Bear Lake
Twin Bear Lake is a 157 acre lake located in Bayfield County. It has a maximum depth of 59 feet. Visitors have access to the lake from one public boat landing. Fish include muskie, panfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike and walleye. According to the Wisconsin DNR, northern pike and walleye are considered common and the rest of the species of fish are listed as present.
Barnes, WI
Bony Lake
Bony Lake is a 190 acre lake located in Bayfield County. It has a maximum depth of 55 feet. Fish include muskie, panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike and walleye. According to the DNR, panfish are abundant in this lake.
Lower Eau Claire Lake
Lower Eau Claire Lake is a 784 acre lake located in Bayfield, Douglas Counties. It has a maximum depth of 41 feet. Fish include muskie, panfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike and walleye. According to the DNR, panfish, walleye and northern pike are considered common in the lake.
Middle Eau Claire Lake
Middle Eau Claire Lake is a 880 acre lake located in Bayfield County. It has a maximum depth of 66 feet. Visitors have access to the lake from a public boat landing. Fish include muskie, panfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike and walleye. According to the DNR, panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike and walleye are considered common in the lake. Upper Eau Claire Lake
Upper Eau Claire Lake is a 1024 acre lake located in Bayfield County. It has a maximum depth of 92 feet. Visitors have access to the lake from a public boat landing. Fish include muskie, panfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike and walleye. According to the DNR, northern pike are abundant in this lake. Panfish are common and the rest of the species listed are considered present in the lake. The lake’s water clarity is very clear.
Cable, WI Area
Lake Owen
Lake Owen is a gorgeous lake with clear water and some awesome bass fishing for largemouth and smallmouth bass. The lake covers 1,250 acres and it is located in Cable, Wisconsin. In addition to bass, you will find northern pike, walleye and a variety of panfish here too. The clear waters make the fishing a little tougher for some anglers, but if you understand how to fish clear water, you can have a lot of success on Lake Owen. According to the DNR, all of these species of fish are considered common in the lake. The lake’s water clarity is very clear.

Atkins Lake
Atkins Lake is a 170 acre lake located in Bayfield County. It has a maximum depth of 80 feet. Visitors have access to the lake from a public boat landing. Fish include panfish, smallmouth bass, northern pike, trout and walleye.
According to the DNR, panfish are considered common in this lake. All of the other species of fish are considered present.
Diamond Lake
Diamond Lake is a 322 acre lake located in Bayfield County. It has a maximum depth of 83 feet. Visitors have access to the lake from a public boat landing. Fish include panfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, trout and walleye. According to the DNR, panfish and trout are common in the lake.
Jackson Lake
Jackson Lake is a 149 acre lake located in Bayfield County. It has a maximum depth of 13 feet. Fish include muskie, panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike and walleye. According to the DNR, northern pike and walleye are common in the lake.
Namekagon Lake
Namekagon Lake is a good-sized lake that covers almost 2,900 acres. Anglers target a variety of fish here, but the toothy critters usually get the most attention. It has solid northern pike fishing with walleye and muskie too. Largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and panfish round out the fishery. This lake is one of the more popular lakes for anglers in this area.
Namekagon River
The Namekagon River is a northern tributary to the St. Croix River. It covers almost 100 miles and is protected under the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway. It offers good fishing for many different species of fish. Anglers can fish for smallmouth bass, walleye, muskie, northern pike, panfish and even trout. There are brown trout and brook trout on the section of river upstream of Hayward, Wisconsin.

Siskiwit Lake is a 285 acre lake located in Bayfield County. It has a maximum depth of 13 feet. Visitors have access to the lake from a public boat landing. Fish include panfish, smallmouth bass and walleye. According to the DNR, walleye are considered abundant in the lake.
