Lake Leelanau Northern Pike Fishing
This lake offers good northern pike fishing and there are some good-sized fish in this lake. Fishing the weed edges is key to find good numbers of pike in Lake Leelanau. Some very big pike have been caught here in the past, so it’s possible to catch a big pike in this lake.
Lake Leelanau Walleye Fishing
The walleye fishing is good on Lake Leelanau and they get a lot of the attention from anglers on this lake. Fishing is good for walleye in low light conditions, so you’ll find other anglers on the lake here at night trolling for walleye. You can catch them during the day too though as many anglers fill their limit during day light hours. Some bigger walleye are in the lake.
Lake Leelanau Smallmouth Bass Fishing
The bass fishing can be very good on Lake Leelanau. There are good numbers of smallmouth bass and there are some very big fish here too. Fish in the 4 to 6 pound range and even bigger are possible.
Lake Leelanau Trout Fishing Fishing
Rainbow trout, brown trout and brook trout are also in the lake, but they are not here in big numbers. Most anglers that catch trout will do so while targeting other species of fish.
Lake Leelanau Largemouth Bass Fishing
Lake Leelanau does have some largemouth bass in the lake and there are some quality fish here too. They are under fished, so if you want to target them here, you won’t have too much competition for them. Smallmouth bass are much more abundant, so if you want to target bass here, you’ll most likely end up catching quite a few smallmouth bass.
Lake Leelanau Panfish: Rock Bass, Perch, Crappie & Bluegill
Lake Leelanau has good numbers of panfish in this lake, so if you want to go out and just catch some fish, you definitely can do that here. Rock bass are here in good numbers and this lake grows them big. Perch are available too, but the jumbo perch are harder to find. Most anglers will catch some of the better perch while jigging for walleye. Bluegill and other sunfish are not as abundant, but there are some fish in here if you want to target them too.
