In the spring, the fishing is good for a variety of fish species. The temperatures are mild and they warm up nicely as spring progresses. The tarpon migration is what brings a lot of people to this area in the spring with good fishing running through April, May and part of June. Offshore, the pelagic species that hit their peak are blue marlin, yellowtail, wahoo and mahi mahi.

The water temperatures heat up in the summer, which means a lot of fishing charters are going to spend more time in offshore waters. Bottom fishing is popular for grouper and mangrove snapper with plenty of other species mixed in. The winter months do bring in some cold fronts and you will deal with more wind as well, but the fishing is still unbelievable all winter long.
