Fly fishing for crappie can be a lot of fun.  It’s not super popular among crappie anglers, but some people do enjoy fly fishing in ponds for crappie or on lakes and reservoirs during the spring time when these fish are shallow.  Once crappie go deep, the fly rod is definitely not the best way to target them, however, you can do very well fishing for crappie in the shallows on a fly rod when they are in the shallows.  Fish the spring time or in ponds if you want to target these fish on a fly rod.  There are many different flies that will get the job done.
