Boca Raton, known as Boca to locals, is truly an amazing beach destination. You will find beaches, golf courses, fine hotels, upscale specialty shops, a shopping mall and so much more. You can find something here for just about everyone on a family vacation.
The people that come to Boca to fish will usually be fishing offshore or from the shore. You have miles of beaches plus pier and jetty fishing for the shore angler. For the deep sea anglers, you have so many species of fish to target. Snapper, grouper, king mackerel, tuna and wahoo are just some of the fish you may catch.
Inshore Fishing
Boca Raton isn’t a popular inshore destination. If you take a look at the map, you’ll see why. There isn’t a lot of water to fish inshore. Some people do fish the canals for snook and other fish, but this area is more popular for its quick access to some awesome deep sea fishing.
Nearshore Fishing
Nearshore, anglers can target a variety of fish from the reefs and wrecks. Some boats can be found fishing the nearshore waters for snapper, grouper, king mackerel, bluefish, cobia and several other species of fish.
Deep Sea / Offshore Fishing
Boca Raton is on our site because of its excellent offshore fishing. You have easy access out to the Atlantic Ocean from the inlet. Anglers target a variety of different fish in the offshore waters here. There are reefs in the deep water offshore and anglers target many different species of fish such as grouper, snapper, cobia, king mackerel, amberjack, goliath grouper and others. The open waters will also hold plenty of other fish such as wahoo, sailfish, tuna and a variety of others.
Surf & Pier Fishing
Boca Raton has miles of beaches to fish with access to pier fishing as well. You can catch a variety of different fish from the pier such as snook, sheepsheads, sharks, kingfish, pompano, Spanish mackerel, amberjack, whiting, pompano and others.
From the surf, anglers can catch many different species of fish, but when the pompano are running, they get most of the attention. Whiting, snook and spanish mackerel are also popular from the surf. There are several other species of fish that you can catch on the beaches in the Boca Raton area.
Jetty fishing is available as well as South Inlet Park. Fish the Boca Raton Inlet for snook and several other species of fish.
