The wind can play a huge role in where the muskie will be found. Early in the year, warm south winds blow warm surface temperatures towards the northern shorelines, which helps push muskie into certain parts of the bays or on the smaller lakes, the northern shorelines. The wind isn’t the only factor, but it does help steer water temperatures at times and it helps position bait fish. Where the bait fish go, muskie will follow. Wind blown shorelines and points are good places to look when targeting main lake muskies.
