The Blue Ridge Mountains are part of the larger Appalachian Mountain Range and they run from northern Georgia to southwest Pennsylvania.  The majority of the mountain range is found in northern Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.  There are so many places to visit in the Blue Ridge Mountains.  Anglers experience good fishing for a variety of fish species that are found in large lakes, small lakes, rivers and streams.  From trout to bass, there is a lot to fish for in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Chattanooga is the 4th largest city in Tennessee.  This city is located at the transition between the ridge-and-valley portion of the Appalachian Mountains and the Cumberland Plateau.  The scenery is beautiful in Chattanooga with mountains and ridges surrounding the city.

Fishing is also very good in this area with the Tennessee River, Chickamauga Lake and Nickajack Lake. Anglers target largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, huge catfish, striped bass, crappie and bluegill.

Dale Hollow Lake is a beautiful lake located on the Kentucky / Tennessee border.  The lake is surrounded by beautiful scenery and miles of shoreline.  It is a wonderful tourism area with plenty of accommodations, houseboats, warm weather, tons of water and some of the best smallmouth bass fishing in the country.

Dale Hollow Lake is home of the world record smallmouth bass that weighed 11 pounds and 15 ounces. Largemouth bass, crappie, muskellunge, walleye, catfish, gar, and trout are also available.  The majority of the fishermen come here for the world class smallmouth bass fishery.


Kentucky Lake

Kentucky Lake is one of the world’s largest man-made lakes.  The lake covers 2,380 miles of shoreline and 160,000 acres of water.  Kentucky Lake is a very popular vacation destination.  Whether you’re coming here for a fishing getaway or a family vacation, there is something to do for everyone.

Kentucky Lake is one of the better lakes for largemouth bass and crappie fishing.  You can find both species of fish here in big numbers and big trophy fish are here too.  Crappie up to and above 15 inches long are caught here and largemouth bass up to and above 7 pounds are in these waters.

Knoxville is a city on the Tennessee River in eastern Tennessee.  The downtown area is popular with shops and restaurants and the Market Square District is home to many 19th century buildings.  There is plenty to do in the area for everyone in the family to find something to enjoy.  Anglers have so many options from lakes, reservoirs, rivers and streams.  The bass fishing is very good as anglers target largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and striped bass.  There is good fishing for catfish and you aren’t too far away from some good trout fishing as well.

The Mississippi River starts at Lake Itasca in northern Minnesota and ends in the Gulf of Mexico about 100 miles south of New Orleans, Louisiana.  It covers more than 2,300 miles and flows through 10 states including 5 major cities.  The fishery can be very good depending on what part of the river you are fishing.  It will fish much differently up in Minnesota than it does down near New Orleans.  There are several featured fishing destinations that we cover that include the Mississippi River as a good body of water to be fishing in that specific area.

Pickwick lake is a large lake that covers over 30,000 acres of water along the Tennessee River.  The lake stretches 46 miles between the Pickwick Landing in Tennessee to the Wilson Dam at Muscle Shoals, Alabama.  This area is known as one of the better fishing destinations in the country for multiple species of fish.  Whether you come here to enjoy the outdoors, go boating or go fishing, you have a lot of water to explore here.

The Smoky Mountains are a mountain range rising along the Tennessee–North Carolina border.  There are several tourist destinations in this mountain range and some of them provide some very good fishing opportunities.

Home of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Smoky Mountains are home to some excellent fishing for rainbow trout, brown trout, brook trout, smallmouth bass and even some muskie.  The many rivers and streams provide exciting fly fishing opportunities in Tennessee and North Carolina.
