Smallmouth bass are not here in great numbers, however, if you want to target them, you can definitely find some fish on Pakwash Lake and on the English River below the dam. Some anglers report some good smallmouth bass fishing in the spring on Lac Seul, but just like all the other waters around here, it’s definitely more of a pike and walleye lake in this area. If you’re coming to Ear Falls and you want to get away for a day or two to target smallmouth bass, check out nearby Perrault Falls. There are several good smallmouth bass lakes in that town and it is very close to Ear Falls.
